Meet the Owner

Hey There!
My name is Ragan, I am the owner and lead therapist of Be Your After Total Wellness, LLC. I genuinely love massage because it allows me to pour into and care for Black women.
BYA is my personal way to repay the kindness of this underappreciated and dead ass tired community and remind them they deserve luxury amenities, thoughtful details, and skilled professional massage and bodywork!
When your shoulders sink into the table, your breathing evens out, and your worries melt away, that's when I am fulfilling my purpose. Massage is my ministry, and I’m honored to share it with you.

The Suite
Feel free to take your wig off, rock your bonnet, or sport your durag unapologetically. Every element in this space from the textiles, to the music, artwork, candles, and aromatic essential oils diffused into the air, has been thoughtfully selected to create what we like to call “woke comfort.” Our goal is to provide a much deserved sanctuary and cultural safe space that allows you to unplug, unwind, and if only temporarily, escape your worries.

Client Experiences
From the moment you walk through the door you're greeted by the sounds of thoughtfully arranged playlists, low soothing lights, and the scent of calming essential oils. The suite is decorated with artwork that highlights our shared culture and celebrates the Black female body in all its many forms.
Candles
Be Your After
Be Your After Candles is a Charlotte, NC based small batch candle brand, owned and operated by licensed massage therapist and self-care enthusiast Ragan Brown. BYA Candles is a direct result of massage clients' repeated requests, and eventual demands, that they be able to purchase the homemade candles burned during their massages at the Be Your After suite. The scents were so intense and distinct, a perfect compliment to their massage. Clients couldn’t take Ragan home but they could take the candles, thus BYA Candles was born.
